Brand focus - Kettlewell

If you haven’t come across Kettlewell before, they are a UK-based brand specialising in clothing designed around colour seasons. To my knowledge, there isn’t another brand doing this… yet!
In my opinion, what Kettlewell does REALLY well is basics—think T-shirts, tops, and layering pieces. Their website even allows you to search for items by your colour season, making it super easy to find pieces in shades you know will look fabulous on you.
As with any brand, there are pros and cons, so let’s break it down.
The Not-So-Good:
Price Point: Kettlewell’s pieces are pricier than standard high-street options. Tops start at around £30+, while jumpers and trousers can be £80+. It’s an investment for sure.
Style Concerns: Some of their styles can feel a bit outdated. Kettlewell has a loyal following and tends to stick to classic, staple items rather than trend-led designs. While I’m not one for chasing every trend, it’s worth being mindful that certain pieces might come across as old-fashioned if not styled thoughtfully.
The Great Stuff:
Neckline Variety: Kettlewell really shines in offering a huge range of necklines. Whether you are looking for V-necks, boat necks, or crew necks, there’s something for everyone. They’ve clearly considered the needs of a diverse group of shoppers.
Size Inclusivity: Their size range is inclusive, running from (what I’ve seen) size 8 to size 20.
Perfect Colours: Their colour matching is spot-on. What you see online is what you get, which isn’t always the case with other brands. They also offer over 300+ colour ways.
Brand values: Brand Values: Kettlewell Colours is committed to fair-trading practices and works predominantly with small, family-run factories that share their environmental values. It’s lovely to support a brand that prioritises ethical production while creating pieces we can enjoy for years to come.
My Thoughts:
I recently ordered a few tops to test the waters and decide whether they’re worth the extra money or if it’s better to stick with high-street options.
Here’s what I found:
Quality: You can feel the love and care in the materials. The tops are often double-lined (so no see-through disasters!) and have a stretchy, comfortable feel. Compared to cheaper basics I’ve bought from ASDA or other high-street stores, the difference in quality is clear.
Colour Match: As someone confident in knowing my colour season, I love that Kettlewell offers a reliable source for finding those tricky-to-spot shades. It’s a relief not to compromise on colour because of limited options elsewhere.
Practicality: If you have a gap in your wardrobe—like a colourful V-neck top—it’s worth checking out Kettlewell. Their selection often fills those gaps you can’t easily find on the high street.
So all in all I do think they are worth buying if you can’t find a colour on the high street. You will often find me adding Kettlewell into the Curated Wardrobe when I can’t find an alternative online.
