Swimsuits

I shared this reel, this week of me trying on some swimsuits,

I wanted to share the links of where I had got them from and also share some of my top tips for picking swimsuits for your body shape.

Some of these are in the sale, so if you can’t find your site on the link, its worth having a look for them in different shops, as I have seen quite a few places selling the same items.

These swimsuits all work for a winter (which is my colour season) and are suitable (some more than others for a triangle shape).

Below I’ve put together a list of the main considerations you should have in mind when looking for a swimsuit that works with your body shape, and will make you feel your most confident self when you hit the beach/pool this summer.

Triangle Shaped

Focus: Balance broader hips with a fuller bust and draw attention upwards.

Best Styles:

  • Suits with ruching or gathering at the bust to create volume.

  • Halter or bandeau tops to broaden the shoulders.

  • Darker bottoms and brighter tops to shift focus upwards.

  • Avoid high-cut legs or boy-cut bottoms that accentuate the hips.

Circle Shaped

Focus: Elongate the body and define the waistline.

Best Styles:

  • Suits with ruching or draping around the midsection to disguise any tummy.

  • Tummy control built into the suit.

  • Suits with vertical stripes or patterns to lengthen the body.

  • Avoid bandeau or strapless styles that might make the upper body appear larger.

Rectangle

  • Focus: Create curves and define the waist.

  • Best Styles:

    • Suits with ruching or gathering at the waist to create curves.

    • Bandeau or halter tops with high-waisted bottoms to create an hourglass illusion.

    • Suits with patterns or embellishments to add visual interest.

Hourglass

  • Focus: Emphasize the waist and balance the bust and hips.

  • Best Styles:

    • Suits with ruching or gathering at the waist to accentuate curves.

    • Bandeau or plunging necklines to showcase the bust.

    • High-cut or bikini bottoms to flatter the hips.

    • All over pattern

Inverted Triangle

  • Focus: Balance broader shoulders with wider hips.

  • Best Styles:

    • Suits with dark-coloured tops and brighter bottoms to draw attention downwards.

    • Halter, bandeau or asymmetrical tops to accentuate the bust.

    • Avoid shoulder pads or embellishments that emphasise the shoulders.
